Bring Natural
Relaxation and Stress Relief to your Life
Today!
By Serenity Health, the Official Guide to Relaxation
Most of us can use a tap on the shoulder once in awhile telling us to
calm down, take a deep breath or relax. If it was that easy we would
tell ourselves that every day and approach the day with a new attitude
rather than feeling anxious, stressed or frazzled!
Most people want to find ways to relax in natural ways. Here are a few
tips to relaxing and starting each day off stress-free.
* Start your day with a natural awakening Many of us are so rudely
interrupted each morning by an annoying beep or loud blaring radio. The
way you wake up in the morning can actually have a larger effect than
how much sleep you got
believe it or not!
If you are not "jolted" awake from a dead sleep but are allowed to
gradually wake up or wake up at the ideal time you will feel much more
awake and refreshed
allowing you to accomplish more in the morning and have a more positive
outlook on the day.
This in turn can leave you feeling less stressed. A natural awakening
alarm clock like one with nature sounds or gradual sunrise will help
accomplish this morning wake up.
* Try to eliminate or reduce the noise levels around you. Noise is
everywhere! At work it is usually people around you or phones ringing
and at home, traffic, people, barking dogs or the neighbors in the
apartment above.
Having something else to focus on can truly help reduce stress and
anxiety levels. Try a water fountain or some relaxation music to give
your mind something to think about.
* Give your feet a rest Treat your feet to a rest by forcing yourself to
sit down, take a deep breathe and put your feet up several times a day.
Whether you sit at a desk all day or are up walking down halls all day
your feet need a rest too.
A hammock or a big bean bag chair can help by providing an alternative
place from your couch or bed.
* Create some serenity at the office Bring some white noise or water
sounds to your work space to drowned out background noise and help you
relax at work. The sound of water from a desktop water fountain will
create soothing sounds to calm your nerves at work where we sometimes
need it most.
* Enjoy nature. Many of us already take a walk mid day or in the evening
to wind down and I am a strong believer that this actually helps relax
and relieve stress. Whether it is the exercise, birds singing or the
quiet woods with the creek flowing through, being outdoors is very
peaceful!
You can bring some of that right to your own indoor and outdoor living
spaces with a garden fountain or indoor fountain. Also, a birdbath will
do wonders to bring the chirping birds to your outdoor space.
*Create your own spa Think about your decor. Are there things you can do
to help alleviate stresses in your home? What about clutter? If you have
clutter you are looking at all the time chances are this can make you
feel anxious and
overwhelmed.
Create your own relaxation haven with a water fountain, some
aromatherapy, relaxing candles and soothing music! This can be an
exercise room, bedroom or room that you relax with a book. Whatever the
space, it will soon become your favorite.
