10 Ways To A
Happier, Stress-Free Life As Your Unique Self
By Andrea Friedmann, RMT
Everything is energy, be it a particle or a wave. That is
what Quantum Physics has recently discovered. It is also the
premise that Oriental medicine and indigenous world-views
have been operating on for centuries. Since everything is
energy, so is the human being, so are you. Your body, your
emotions, your thoughts... it's all energy.
When your vibrations are low, you feel heavy and slow,
emotionally, you are unhappy or depressed, and spiritually,
you are cut off from your knowledge of your Source. On the
other hand, when your vibrations are high, you feel light,
agile, your emotions are joyful and hopeful, and spiritually
you feel connected to yourself and your Source. With high
vibrations your immune system is strong and your body
healthy. When your vibrations are high, you feel more
creative: you may be better at problem-solving or feel
inclined to produce something beautiful or artistic. That is
to say that when your vibrations are high it is easy to know
who you truly are, to express your Self, and to be true to
your Self.
When you can do that, you find that you don't sweat the
small stuff as much.. in other words, you feel less stress.
When you are true to your Self, you do the things that
really matter to you, and you feel empowered, aligned,
inspired... happy. Not only that, when you are true to your
Self, you attract to yourself the situations and the people
who support your true Self.
The following are ten ways to successfully raise your
vibrations so that you can start that path to a more joyful,
stress-free existence right now:
1. Listen to music that uplifts you. You know how music can
do that for you, how it can inspire you, make you want to
dance. Find the pieces that bring you joy, play them first
thing in the morning to set the tone for the day, play them
at the end of the day, when you feel tired and low on
energy.
2. Do a vibration-raising breathing exercise. A vibration-
raising exercise is another good way to start the day. But
it is especially useful when something that feels out of
your control is beginning to take hold of your thoughts and
emotions, bringing your vibrations down to the ground. The
best thing is that you can do it even in the middle of a
meeting. Take a deep breath with the intention of raising
your vibrations (try to feel positive, light, joyful -- if the
feelings are not genuine, at least emulate them), then let
the air out with the intention of blowing out with it all
the things that keep you down (your worries, your stress,
any negativity around you). Repeat this at least three
times, noticing that you feel lighter and better with each
in-breath. Repeat as necessary until you feel joyful and
calm.
3. Take a walk out of doors. This can be a quick pop out to
the street or it can be a longer affair in an especially
beautiful place. What matters here is that you take a moment
to notice the sky and the ground, the trees and the grass,
any elements of Nature around you. Being in nature raises
your vibrations naturally, so if you can walk on the ground,
instead of on concrete, or in a meadow or forest, then you
will get even greater benefit from your walk. But that is
not necessary, as long as you are aware that Nature is
around you, even in the city!
4. Have a heart-to-heart with a dear friend. Connecting with
others in a deep, true way is an immediate vibration-raiser.
So call an old friend you haven't seen in a while, or catch
up with your neighbor and ask what is really going on in
their life.
5. Feel gratitude. Gratitude has a very high vibration, and,
if you look, you can always find something to be grateful
for, even when things seem to be going badly. As the wise
saying goes: things could be worse. One powerful way to feel
gratitude is to send a letter of thanks to someone from your
past who gave you a gift that you have not acknowledged,
such as a lesson in courage or simply moral support when you
needed it.
6. Be of service. Another natural vibration-raiser, if done
in the spirit of helping. Do a good deed for someone else,
it doesn't have to be much. You can help your neighbor take
out the trash or give up your seat on the train. It will
make them feel good, raise their vibrations, and just send
the good vibes right back to you!
7. Give a gift. Again, it can be small, a pressed leaf as a
bookmark, a found object. Just give something that will make
another person feel appreciated. The principle here is the
same as the one above, the good vibes you cause in others
raise yours too. But giving anonymously may work even
better, if you give just for the virtue of it.
8. Move your energy. In other words, move your body, dance
hard or challenge yourself to your fastest sprint, something
fun that will get your blood pumping. Moving and exercise
have been shown to be mood enhancers, which is another word
for raised vibrations.
9. Read inspirational books, or at least quotes from
inspiring people.
For example:
Go where you have never been.
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
Carl Sagan
10. Do something special for yourself. Give yourself time to
do what you are always wanting to do and never manage to get
to. Give yourself a gift that you can really enjoy. Again,
it can be something small, like a long bubble bath in
candlelight with a cup of hot chocolate.
One of the best ways to raise your vibrations is to do
Reiki, a Japanese technique for stress reduction and
relaxation that also promotes self-healing. Ki (or chi in
Chinese) is the life force in you. Rei means Universal or
Spiritually Guided, so Reiki means Universal Life Force
Energy. With Reiki you, or someone else, can channel the
Universal Life Force Energy into your energy field, raising
your vibrations and breaking up the blockages and imbalances
that keep your vibrations low. Reiki works like doing all
ten of the vibration-raising methods above at once!
You get the idea of how to raise your vibrations by now,
right? Go ahead and try these suggestions, then think of ten
more and keep your vibrations high!
